The Industrial Safety Act requires companies to establish an Arc Flash Management Program. This can be accomplishes through a two-stage process:

2. Perform Arc Flash calculations based on the above information.
3. Preparation of an Arc Flash analysis report addressing:

  • Arc Flash boundaries
  • Working distances
  • Limits of approach
  • Incident energy
  • Personal protection equipment requirements
4. Label all plant equipment with appropriate Arc Flash warning labels

Stage 2 - Arc Flash Management Program

Our Flag Tag System is a numerical tag for each device or instrument, it:

  • Modify existing systems and or procedures to reduce hazards
  • Provide Employee Training in Arc Flash Awareness and Live Work
  • Create Live Work Procedures and Arc Flash Incident Reports
  • Assemble Arc Flash Hazard Kits for trained workers
  • Establish a maintenance and inspection program

Are you compliant with the new Canadian Regulations for Arc Flash?

Under section 42 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for Industrial Establishments it states that a worker must be adequately protected from electrical shock and burn. In conjunction with this, the CSA regulation Z462 was released in December of 2008 as a guideline to assess the potential hazard.
